‘My son has never really enjoyed messy play at home, how can Mess Around help?’
As part of a group, Mess Around is naturally a more social experience which leaves more cautious children more willing to explore. It is perfectly normal for some to be a little unsure of certain textures, but with encouragement and involvement from their parents, this is enough to fill them with confidence and get fully involved. Messy play can be split into 3 stages (dry, soft and wet), each of which are represented each week and explored at the child’s own pace – instilling confidence to explore the next stages.
‘I want messy memories – can I bring a camera?’
Use your camera with caution; respect that other parents may not want their child in the picture, and please make sure it’s put away somewhere safe after use.
‘What should we wear?’
It is advisable that both you and your child wear clothes that you won’t mind getting messy. Children are to remain clothed during the session. Please bring a change of clothes for your child to go home warm and dry. Please bring a towel to dry off with and a plastic bag to take wet clothes home in. You may also consider purchasing a Mess Around t-shirt to use. They will also act as a momento of your time at Mess Around. Swim nappies are also a good idea if they like to sit in the water play and jelly shoes / crocs are advisable for children that are walking.
‘I like the idea of group play – but not too out of control – what are the maximum sizes of groups?’
Mess Around sessions accommodate 25-50 children comfortably depending on the size of the venue used. Your child remains your responsibility whilst at Mess Around.
‘I’ve paid in advance, do I get a refund if we miss a event?’
Due to hire charges and costs of materials, I’m afraid we can’t offer a refund. Refunds will be issued if sessions are cancelled by Mess Around due to unforseen cirmcumstances (unfortunately this does not include adverse weather conditions that prevent members from travelling to the sessions) and make up sessions are not possible.
‘I would like to bring my 2 year old but have a newborn baby too – can I bring her along?’
Babies in arms are free and more than welcome. When they sit unaided there is nothing stopping them from getting fully involved in the messy play areas, and as soon as they are able to take part there is only a small charge for siblings.
‘I have a party to plan – can you help?’
Mess Around would be more than happy to fulfil the entertainment element of your child’s special day. Mess Around parties are fun and original and great value for money.
‘I want to see what Mess Around is all about – can I come and see?’
Of course, if you’d like to drop in to take a quick look, please phone ahead so we know to expect you, there is no charge for coming to take a peek but if you want to stay and play there is a charge.
