Christmas is well and truly forgotten for another year, the weather is cold and pay day seems a long long way away! No wonder then that this day has been coined as Blue Monday, the most depressing day of the year apparently!

Not in this house as today we tried another new messy activity at home with some Bubble Foam

Bubble foam is really simple to make and needs only 3 ingredients

  • Bubble Bath
  • Water
  • Food Colouring

Simply add to a bowl, 1/4 cup of bubble bath, 1/2 cup of water and some food colouring (I used powder colouring) and whisk together for around 2 minutes or until it starts to form stiff peaks. Then pour into a bowl, tray and away you go.

For our first attempt we added the mixture to our blender to try and whisk together

However we found this didn’t really form the peaks we were after. So in went the mixture to a bowl and out came the electric whisk which worked much better.

Both of my boys enjoyed the process of watching and helping whisk the mixture and then couldn’t wait to get stuck in.

My eldest wanted to add our My Little Ponies and promptly started his own dialogue of them squelching and splashing in the colorful mixture.

Meanwhile the youngest set straight to exploring the texture with his hands, although he wasn’t quite sure about it!

Ice Cream cones and a spoon allowed them both to scoop, fill and pour the mixture.
