Make a Mess at Home: Salt Dough Dinosaur Bones

Make your own Salt Dough Dinosaur Bones

We have been counting down the months for bringing our Dinosaur Detectives messy play events  back. It has been great to see how many boys and girls are as excited as we

Your little Dino fans will get to stomp with the oldest party animals on the planet and discover a messy land before time! You’ll find a herd of messy activities including jellysaurus, spaghettiraptor and fossil hunting. Or become a detective and hunt for dinosaurs amongst the swamps, deserts and volcanoes. All you need to do is come along and mess around and leave the cleaning up to us. Remember to show us your messy claws!

One of the fantastic activities we will have at our messy play events is ‘Digging for Fossils’ where your little explorers will get to dig, brush and scoop through the mud to find our Dinosaur bones and fossils- all made from a simple salt dough recipe.

Salt dough is such a fun, messy ingredient to make at home and you can shape it into pretty much anything that takes your fancy. I know Salt dough is very popular at Christmas to make decorations, or you can even squish you little ones handprints to create a momento of their little hands.

Here is the recipe we used below and some fun pictures, so you can try Salt Dough at home. Don’t forget to share your photos of you trying this at home.
