Last week was full of adventure as I hopped on a ferry from our new home on the Island of Lismore and headed towards Glasgow to start my Scotland Mess Around Tour!

What a brilliant few days I had spending time with our leaders, but also attending their fantastic events. Thursday started with a meeting with Kerry-Anne our Mess Around Edinburgh franchise partner. If you followed last week’s blog It’s a family affair then you will know Kerry-Anne started her Mess Around journey 10 weeks after having her second baby. This April will mark her 1st year in business, which is a huge milestone and I’m very proud of her achievements. Kerry-Anne is now hosting 6 events per month and regular birthday parties, which she has built up over the last year, whilst looking after two small children. Building on her success she now plans to expand her business this year by delivering private events in schools, nurseries and toddler groups. We are really fortunate that we can spend time with our leaders to hear about their successes and struggles, so we can help provide them with the support they need to move forward. I can’t wait to see what 2019 brings for Kerry-Anne and her business.

Next stop on Friday was Glasgow to meet our best friend partnership Kelly and Pauline who are our franchise partners for Glasgow South & Lanarkshire. Kelly and Pauline joined the Mess Around family in September 2016 and have been hosting Events, Children’s Birthday Parties and private bookings whilst they both work part time for the NHS. This year the duo have big plans to expand their team by recruiting new leaders, so they can host more events across their territories. We can provide you with the knowledge and know how in how to manage that process through our contacts with HR specialists and share best practice from other franchise partner owners.

On the Saturday I visited Kelly & Pauline’s Giffnock Rumble in the Jungle Party to see them in action and the event did not disappoint. With over 80 children and their parents in attendance the atmosphere was electric and I was delighted to be a bubble girl at the event. Its brilliant to see how far the Kelly and Pauline have come in their 2 years in business.

Saturday afternoon I jumped back into the car and headed up to Elgin in Moray. A four hour drive through Aberdeenshire with spectacular views made the drive an easy trip.  Over 4 years ago I started events in Elgin when I lived in the Isle of Skye. I use to be up at 5am to drive across to Elgin for 8am to set up for two events and then head home later afternoon. Its brilliant to see that the Elgin event is still going strong with parents and children coming from across the area to join the messy fun. Check out this video of Emma’s set up as it was amazing!

Emma joined the Mess Around family over 2 years ago and hasn’t looked since. She’s hosted over 200 events in Moray & Aberdeenshire and over 5000 children have been through her messy doors which meant last year she was able to give up her full time job to concentrate on Mess Around full time. This year she plans to add Slime Lab UK to her programme which means she will be able to start delivering workshops, birthday parties and private work shops to children aged 5 years plus and increase her revenue.

The great thing about being part of a franchise is it’s a tried and tested model, so we can have you up and running very quickly. You also have the support, advice and guidance from an experienced team,  so you’re not on your own. Feedback from our leaders tell us that they feel supported and they know we are here if they need us. We’re are looking for more leaders to join our team across Scotland if you’re looking for a new challenge then we would love to hear from you!
