For our upcoming event Mess Around Party its all about the toys! This week we have made Penguins climbing Peaks.

Things you will need

Supplies - Paper plate, glue, cotton wool, scissors, paper, pipe cleaner, googly eyes, pens

  • Paper plate
  • Cotton wool balls
  • Pipe cleaners
  • Googly eyes
  • Scissors
  • Black and orange pens
  • Glue
  • Paper
  • Masking tape (we added this after the photo as the spirals werr not sticking to the plate with glue too well.)

Messy Instructions

Step 1

Draw, colour and cut out two penguins on the paper. We made our penguins around 12cm tall.

Step 2

Once both penguins have been coloured in and cut out, glue on some googly eyes.

Step 3

Attach half of the pipe cleaner to the back of a penguin, leaving the other half hanging down by its feet. Spiral the bottom half of the pipe cleaner.

Step 4

Attach the bottom end of the spiralled pipe cleaner to the plate – we used masking tape because the glue did not hold the weight of the penguin too well! Repeat steps 3 and 4 for the other penguin.

Step 5

Stick on the cotton wool balls to the back of the plate.
